Food

I miss Japanese food a lot. Honestly, I don’t think I will miss American foods when the day comes that I have to leave America.  This time, I would like to tell how to cook my favorite beakfast that I have had since I was a kid. Every morning my mom used to make a good breakfast for 3 kids in my family. First, set to be ready to boil the rice in a rice-cooker before you go to bed and you can start to cook soon, because it takes about an hour including washing the rice. Usually, our family and people in Japan eat fish a lot. I used to eat fish at breakfast. My favorite fish that I used to eat were Saba-mackerel and Shake-salmon. Add a salt to the fish and grill it. While you are waiting for the fish, make a Japanese Miso Soup. Miso is soybean paste.  Usually, I put soft seaweed, tofu, and mushroom-hackberry in Miso Soup. In my culture, rice is needed at home for every meal every day. Rice, Miso Soup that I explained, fish and Japanese food are very healthy and have nutrition. I want to show Japanese foods to my American friends here and I want them to know how delicious, good, and healthy Japanese food is for people.

Food; fast food

Usually, I don't go to fast food in my country or America. I have already decided in my mind that fast food is not good and not healthy at all. In Japan, Japanese foods and restaurants are healthy and have good foods, but there are fast foods too. I will tell about similar and different points between Japan and America. First, there are some similar things; it is easy to find fast food. Especially, young people often get fast food. The price is very cheap. You can get foods soon. There are seats where you can eat inside, and also you can take it out. Next, differences are that I can tell the truth completely, but I think more Americans often go to fast food in their daily life. The size is totally different. The size in America is huge. I was very very surprised. How big large size is!!! The service and worker’s smile sometimes look and sound boring and lazy. I sometimes saw that worker saying lazily “May I help you?” and “What do you want?” I didn't feel good as a consumer. It is impossible in Japan. They are very friendly and give a perfect smile to each customer. They are nice workers even it is very busy because of a lot of customers

Global information society

In this article, “Controversy blights UN net summit”, Twist writes that the world summit discusses the “ Information Society” and is getting a serious argument. They formally stated that they would make efforts to help poor countries with information and communication technologies. Technologies and knowledge would also lead all counties to include support from delegates and participating nations, but funding is not one problem, too. The idea that global information society to freedom of expression was remarkable during the summit; on the other hand, online restrictions are needed to protect states was one big opinion. Freedom in the connection between computers is for an information society, but there is no specific international standard yet.

We should see more differences and issues such as what is the most important way to solve this issue today between poor countries and rich countries. We don’t need protection from the free sharing of information. Also, spreading global connections helps the information society.

Creating a stable country is first. We have many differences between poor counties and rich countries. For example, one of the differences from this article is the technology gap between rich and poor nations. Funding is also related to these differences. First, stabilizing education, life, food, political economics, and family environment, then creating information society and expanding net access is better in less developed countries. In every country, gaining information is helpful. However, it is effective to get more information and make the information society after making the concrete standard such as educating children and adults in less developed countries. Then, the country will be getting settled down. First, we should create a stable county, which has capability to protect us from criminal act, terrorism, and illegal action.

Do we need protection from freedom of expression for the Internet? Free sharing of information can create the information society; however, some online restrictions are needed to protect states and government. Also, parents want to protect children. Children don’t need everything such as violence and pornography. This includes parents who want government to protect them from criminal acts using technology. However, if someone is selling information and putting a price on the information, people cannot get information easily. They cannot get a lot of information easily. Therefore, they can keep and get limited information, and violence, terrorism, and economic illegal action which harms state get less.

Not only the problem of getting information, but also developing net access and Internet connection access technology require time and funding. According to the man of the International Telecommunication Union, “Freedom in cyberspace is a pre-requisite for an information society” (Twist, 2005, para-6) . The free sharing of information is that they are working hard, but what is the most important in global information society? More increasing global events, more getting well global technologies, journalists, and bloggers that is related to information. That create information society through global events.

Considering what is the most important thing to solve issue is first in less developed countries. Free sharing of information can protect us from people and illegal acts by selling information and putting a price on information. Global events push all countries towards development goals. This is still the efficiency way of social information.

Carbondale

Carbondale: first impression of Carbondale
I came from Kyoto in Japan. My hometown is a pretty big and traditional city in Japan. I live in the city. Many cars, taxi, buses, subways, public trains, big sightseeing buses, business buildings, and big hotels are very close to my home. I can go to these places by bicycle very easily. I have a driver's license, but I seldom drive in my hometown. I’m still scared to drive, because traffic and directions are very complicated in the city and people are very busy. Also, it’s hard to find a parking lot and it is expensive to park a car. On the other hand, Carbondale is part of the countryside to me. I have heard “Carbondale has nothing to do,” “Carbondale is very boring,” and “This is not America.” The bus is only a shuttle bus in this area, and the way to get to another farther place is Amtrak or Greyhound bus. Many students have their own car, and students and many teachers come to school by car. People in Carbondale drive anywhere. They don’t take transportation. I thought it was troublesome to me when I came here first, because I don’t have a car. I have to take train or plane when I go somewhere from here in the U.S. However, there are many natural sights here and you can go to places such as mountains, rivers, and waterfalls easily. This point is very nice and I like it. Also, people are friendly. They don’t seem busy.
